Seneca Enterprise Ltd (“Seneca”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your personal data. This notice explains what we collect on senecaenterprise.com, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who we are
Seneca Enterprise Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16047365) with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. We are the controller of the personal data described in this notice. Contact: info@senecaenterprise.com or +44 (0)151 453 5915.
What we collect and why
- Enquiry and quote forms — name, company, email address, phone number and the details of your enquiry. We use this to respond to you, prepare quotations and provide our services (legal bases: taking steps to enter a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries).
- Usage data — pages visited, approximate location, device and browser information, collected through Google Analytics via the Site Kit plugin. We use this to understand how the site is used and to improve it (legal basis: legitimate interest; analytics cookies are used only where permitted).
- Technical logs — our hosting provider records IP addresses and requests in standard server logs for security and reliability (legal basis: legitimate interest).
- Marketing — if you ask to receive updates from us, we use your contact details to send them. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us (legal basis: consent).
Our online shop
Purchases made on our shop at shop.senecaenterprise.com are processed by Shopify, which handles order, payment and delivery details under its own security and privacy arrangements. Payment card details are processed by the payment provider and are never seen or stored by Seneca.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our instructions — our website hosting provider, Google (analytics), Microsoft 365 and our email marketing platform, and Shopify for shop orders — and where the law requires disclosure. Where providers process data outside the UK, transfers rely on adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for up to 24 months afterwards. Records relating to contracts and orders are kept for 6 years in line with legal and accounting obligations. Analytics data is retained on Google’s standard retention settings.
Cookies
This site uses essential cookies needed for it to function, and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) that help us understand site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking analytics cookies does not affect your use of the site.
Your rights
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- object to or restrict our processing;
- receive a copy of data you provided in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@senecaenterprise.com. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Coverage quote tool
When you ask Seneca Enterprise for a coverage budget, we collect your name, job title, company, work email, optional phone number, site postcode and the site details you enter. We use these details to prepare your estimate, contact you about the enquiry and keep a record of our discussions. We capture your contact details when you complete the first step, including when you do not finish the estimate.
We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries and providing relevant follow-up. You can object to this use by emailing info@senecaenterprise.com.
We record your acknowledgement of this notice separately from marketing consent. We send marketing updates only if you tick the optional marketing box, and you can withdraw that consent at any time, using the unsubscribe link in a marketing message or by emailing info@senecaenterprise.com.
To operate the service and prevent abuse, we also record:
- checks on your email domain;
- quote and email-send records;
- the versions and dates of the notice and consent wording you saw;
- a salted hash of your network address;
- limited referral and browser information.
Fasthosts hosts the tool and its data in the UK. SMTP2GO sends our emails. SMTP2GO is based in New Zealand and may process email data outside the UK. Where it does, the transfer is protected by the UK’s adequacy regulations or by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
We delete enquiry and quote records after 24 months. Copies in our sales mailboxes are removed on the same schedule by an automated retention process. Backups expire under our normal backup retention schedule.
You can ask to access or erase your information, withdraw marketing consent, or object to enquiry follow-up by emailing info@senecaenterprise.com. The “I didn’t request this” link in a customer email stops further quote-tool emails to that address. We keep a suppression entry to honour that request, and a minimal record of any erasure (the date, record number and quote references, without contact details).
The quote tool itself sets no cookies.
